Organization Overview

Mission Statement :
The mission of the Children's Health Express is to address the unmet health needs of children from low income families that live in the area it serves. The mobile health team delivers primary and preventive comprehensive healthcare at specified sites considered to be medically under-served, with the goal to meet the children and their families “where they are.” Services are delivered on school campuses or at an early intervention agency. The mobile medical clinic is able to drive directly to the selected locations. This approach is an attempt to confront known barriers that contribute to the lack of health care for these children. It is also an attempt to reduce the disparity between children eligible for Medicaid or other low cost health insurance and those enrolled in such programs. Our goals are to be a medical home, and to ensure that each child receives comprehensive pediatric primary care services in their neighborhood.
