Mission Statement : | The Austin Jazz Workshop's mission is to mentor and perform for public school students in order to encourage their participation in band, orchestra, and choir programs; to uphold and promote the American jazz tradition; and to enhance quality of life for all ages through live performances employing area musicians and collaborations with nonprofit organizations in central Texas. |
Purpose : | The AJW performs for over 100 schools annually in the Austin, Del Valle, Manor, Round Rock, and Eanes ISD's. We send clinicians out to the music classes ahead of each performance to enhance the full group experience to come. The AJW also collaborates with area nonprofit groups on their benefits and appreciation events. |
